Earth Day Street Fair

Music, dance, and art set the festive tone, and environmental non-profits host activity stations to engage community members of all ages. As you check out what’s available, try out some options, and run into people you know, you’ll enjoy the celebratory atmosphere. The Procession of the Species will wind its way down the middle of Commercial Avenue from 4th to 8th streets at about 5:00 on Saturday, April 26th.
Partner Organizations
Join in the street activities to learn more about local groups focused on protecting the flora and fauna of Fidalgo Island, like Friends of the Forest. You’ll find out classes and activities you and your family may want to engage in, and you’ll find fun opportunities for young ones like street chalk and face painting.
Safety
Safety is a primary concern for Anacortes Earth Day. Organizers have met with the Anacortes Police Department and taken their guidance to heart. There’s a City-approved plan for street closures, blockades, and safety volunteers. We owe event organizers and volunteers our gratitude—Anacortes Earth Day would not be possible without their time and attention to detail.
Restaurants
Downtown restaurants are as excited about Anacortes Earth Day as we all are! Many have created special food and drink offerings, and some have built an entire menu around the occasion. Stop in before the festivities begin or during the Street Fair for a meal and a beverage.
